What a big girl!!

Well, we made it. Yesterday's daycare drop-off and Brynn's doctor appointment today both went better than I thought they would, that's for sure!!

First off, just a reminder... I have the most awesome husband ever. (You can argue if you want... I'm always right though. Just ask him! Right Babe?! Ha.)

Chad went with me yesterday to drop her off because he knew it was going to be rough for me to take her for the first time. Brynn woke up smiling yesterday morning, was smiling when we took her to daycare and was still smiling when we left, so that made it a whole lot easier too. Whew. When Chad picked her up, Brenda (the lady who watches her) said that she was surprised that I only called her once to check in!!

I met Chad at the pediatrician's office and he had already taken her to get her stats taken before I got there!!

Here's a recap:

Birth:
Weight - 7lbs, 5oz
Length - 20 1/4"

Now (at TWO MONTHS OLD!):
Weight - 10lbs, 14oz (she's in the 75th percentile)
Length - 22 1/2" (she's in the 50th percentile)

Dr Salek said "She's a cutie, so much hair!" as soon as he walked into the room today. He said that she's a perfectly healthy baby girl! YAY! After he checked her out, he sent the nurse in to give her shots... UGH. Brynn did really good, she screamed for about a minute or so and then was ok... then caught her breath and kind of whimpered for a few minutes and that was about it. She yelled at me in the car for a minute and that was only because the sun was in her eyes... I fixed her convertable top on her carseat and she was good to go!

Whew. I made it both days without crying. I can't believe it. I came REALLY REALLY close a few times but I held it together. I'm pretty proud of myself!! YAY ME!!

Here are a few pictures that we took today:

Does she look comfy or what?! Notice the bandaids on her leg... ;o(

Look at how much volume her hair has!! Why can't mine be like that?!

What a cutie!

Brynn is getting so big! Tomorrow she will be two months old, time is flying by!!

I am really not looking forward to the next two days. Tomorrow, I'm taking her to the babysitter for the first time. Tuesday, she's getting her two month shots. 3 OF THEM! I about had a meltdown when they had to prick her foot at the lab, what the freak am I going to do on Tuesday?! Luckily, Chad is going to be there too. My mom went with me to the lab appointment a week after she was born and I felt awful, I felt so helpless, she was crying while I was holding her and I couldn't do anything to comfort her!! Tuesday will definately be a whole lot harder for a lot of reasons... one is that she knows that we're Mommy and Daddy and she's going to wonder why the hell we're letting someone do this to her, we're supposed to protect her and make things all better!! Number two is that her cry/scream is about forty times louder than it was two months ago, which will just bring us back to number one. Number three is that she can now focus on things and look us in the eye, which will again take us back to number one!!

These are just a few of the challenges/learning experiences/emotional moments that Chad and I will get to face as new parents!! I know there will be many more to come and I'm sure that these things don't seem like a big deal to a lot of the people who read this blog... BUT THEY ARE!!

Here are a few pictures that we've taken within the last few days!! I finally asked Chad to take a picture of Brynn and I and look at the face she's making!! She was NOT a happy camper!!

P.S. I think her eyes are going to stay blue like her Daddy's!!

Lindy's visit!

My Aunt Lindy was here to meet Brynn last week from Saturday until Wednesday!!

Here are some pictures from her visit (Brynn loved to chew on her shoulder!!):

Rollercoaster ride

Sorry it's been a while since I've blogged!! We've had quite a rollercoaster of a week, mostly going downhill. Where do I start?

Negative: Last Thursday, Chad lost his job. We've been wanting him to get the hell out of there for a while but were waiting for the right opportunity to come along. Don't even get me started on this one.

Positive: TJ is awesome. Chad has an interview lined up for Tuesday with a company that TJ referred him to. There are more details than that but it boils down to Chad's brotha-from-anotha-motha is awesome.

Negative: Today was my first day back to work. It was an ok day but lets just say I love my full time Brynn time much more.

Positive: (There are a couple.) The most fun and important one is that she got to spend the whole day with Daddy!! The only other positive is that I'll be getting my full paycheck. Well, full for the most part. Whatever, I'm not going into that one either. Does anyone know what Saturday's powerball numbers are going to be? I'd like to play them. And win. Lots of money. (Even though at this point, I'll settle for just a little money.)

Negative: Brynn starts daycare on Monday.

Positive: Jenn and TJ are going to take their son Luke to the same sitter that we're using!! YAY!!

I have a few other blogs that I want to post, so stay tuned this weekend for some new pictures. Brynn's growing like crazy, we took her to the doctor yesterday and she weighs 10lbs, 10oz!

Brynn's One-Month Pictures

She is growing so fast!! She is 7 weeks old already, she's changed a little since these were taken but I had to post them anyway, we just got them back on Thursday. She was 4 weeks old when these were taken.

Is she cute or what?! (We think so!!)

Ahhh... we're home!

We had a nice whirlwind of a trip but we're glad to be home!! With a 6 week old baby, I think we did pretty good on time... about 8 hours there and 8 hours back!! We only had to stop three times each way.

Chad and I got to go on our "First Date" since Brynn was born (Jody watched Brynn for us)!!

We went to lunch at one of Chad's favorite places to eat in Huntington Beach:

After lunch we went to a movie and saw: (which is HILARIOUS!)

On Saturday night, Chad, Brynn and I went to dinner with Jody and Mike (Chad's mom and dad), his sister Ana and her boyfriend Keith!! It was our first time meeting Keith, we gave Ana our approval!! He's a nice guy, he treats her well and she's REALLY happy!! Here are a few pictures from dinner.

The restaurant that we went to was right off of:

Goin' back to Cali... Cali... Cali...

Remember that song?

We're going to California to see Chad's family for the weekend... so we'll have lots of pictures to post when we get back!!

Hopefully she'll sleep (like this!)

(or like this!)

for most of the drive. It normally takes us about 6-7 hours to get there...

and we're sure we'll end up stopping for a few feedings and diaper changes along the way!!

Here are a few (ok, well a bunch) pictures that we took over the weekend!!

Brynn and Matt (HOW CUTE IS THIS?!) according to Matt, she is NOT HIS GIRLFRIEND! I think this look might tell a different story...

Auntie Bri!!

My sister flew in on Friday for the long holiday weekend and just flew back to Ohio today. It was a pretty fun trip, after we picked her up at the airport, we went to The Hard Rock Cafe in Phoenix!! On Saturday we didn't do much but we had some friends stop by on Sunday and yesterday though!! Bri got to spend lots of time with Brynn... she helped change some diapers and fed Brynn a few times too!! What a vacation!! ;o) At least she got to spend some time out by the pool!!

Mark it on the calendar... This was THE FIRST trip that she's made to AZ that we haven't fought!!

Here are some pictures from her visit:

Thanks for coming to visit!! When are you coming back???????
