Chad took Brynn for her first dip in the pool on Saturday night!! We figured it would be ok considering it was 101 degrees in the pool, 90 something outside and 75 in the house!! AT NIGHT!!
She actually liked it!! She didn't scream or cry once!! The first dip in the pool with Daddy went a whole lot better than all of the baths that we've given her... plus, it's a salt water pool so it's good for her skin! ;o)
I think I'm pretty lucky when it comes to mine, the only complaint that I have is that when she comes to visit, she wants to pay for everything. I know, it's not a horrible thing, especially when money is tight, but you kinda feel like you can't ever be grateful enough, ya know? Jody drove in from California on the day that my mom flew back to Ohio and just headed back there today! She teaches and has had the summer off and school is getting ready to start back up again so she had to go back. It's really been nice having her here... I've only had about one day alone with Brynn since I had her and it was kind of a rough one... I don't know if I'm ready to do this by myself yet! For the last couple nights, she's been staying with her parents because my dad is here visiting!! (I'll do another blog on him!!)

Today, Chad turned 31!! Compared to last year's big shin-dig, this birthday was pretty low-key!! We did go out for dinner though!! We went to a steakhouse that we both like and it was our first trip out for dinner with just Chad, Brynn and I!! It's so neat to have a little addition at the table now!! (She just sleeps through the whole thing in her carseat anyway but it's still neat!!)
Babe, I hope you had a good birthday - thanks for being such an awesome Daddy to Brynn!! You have been so thoughtful and helpful throughout everything, you are the best husband ever!! I love you!!
Here are a few pictures that we just took within the last day or two!! The ones where she's laying down with the pink background are where she's laying on her changing table pad, we call these her "Tootin' and Poopin'" faces!! (Yeah, probably a little too much detail there but oh well, THAT'S OUR GIRL!!)

Brynn is still an awesome baby, even though her schedule is out of whack from what it was a week ago! It's a little rough! Now, instead of sleeping through the night, she likes to go to bed anywhere from 10:00 and 12:00 and will sleep until anywhere from 2:00 to 5:00am. I think we got really lucky at first with her sleeping through the night. It allowed me to recover pretty well after the c-section though!! It's still not as bad as what it could be (knock on wood...) - Chad and I just love (and appreciate!) our sleep though!! I go back to the doctor on Wednesday for my follow up appointment.
The day that my mom left, Chad's mom, Jody, came back in to town from California!! She's staying with us for a few more days before heading back!! It's definately been nice having her here!! I don't know how single moms or dads do it... I have Chad here to help me out and it's also been really nice having people come and stay with us to help us out!! We're extremely blessed... to say the least!!
We had a few visitors within the last week, including some members of our Arizona family!! Jenn, Luke (Brynn's boyfriend, even though neither one of them realize it yet!), Stephanie and Morgan stopped by late last week! Here are a few pictures from their visit!!
A few days ago, Chad was getting ready to take Brynn outside for a minute and he felt bad because it was sooo bright outside, so he decided to see if her sunglasses would fit her yet!! It doesn't look like she was a big fan of the purple ones... they were way too big... so we tried the clear ones and they fit a lot better!!
Here's one that we took one last night... it's the first outfit that we've put on Brynn since she's been home besides a onezie! (Chad picked it out!) I'm a dummy and didn't realize that there was a difference between newborn clothes and 0-3 month clothes, so she has a ton of 0-3 month clothes and hardly any newborn clothes!! Oops! ;o)

Well I had a rough night last night and the night before. Tuesday night, Mom thought it was because I was frustrated with Brynn but I was just bummed that she was heading back to Ohio yesterday. It's been REALLY nice having her here and I really didn't want her to leave. Neither did Chad. She's been great with Brynn... giving us lots of tips and ideas on what to do... but only when we asked. (Or if she could tell that we were completely stressed out...) THAT was nice. It was also really nice on those nights where Brynn just wouldn't go to sleep and Chad and I were getting stressed, she would take her and be able to calm her down for us.
We got a bunch of home cooking too... She made two batches of chocolate chip cookies and four batches of peanut butter cookies plus a bunch of other stuff - the peanut butter cookies were his favorite - that's why she made so many of them!!
For a while, Mom has been talking about getting a tattoo for Brynn. She kept putting it off and putting it off... I kept telling her a wuss because she hadn't done it yet!! Well, she finally did it yesterday!! Chad has a friend through his VW club who is a tattoo artist and he gave Mom a deal!! (It's a lot more clear now than what it was when we took these pictures...)
